First District Taco, the Arlington food truck, opened a retail location on Lee Highway in Arlington. Now, the owners of D.C.-based Sauca will also be opening a restaurant in Arlington, on Columbia Pike.
Owner Farhad Assari commented on ARLNow’s blog confirming that he is selling two of his food trucks, Meathead Mobile Eatery and La Gloria Mexicana, to support the new retail location.
Sauca hopes to open their first brick and mortar restaurant by the end of May. Sauca noted on Facebook that Arlington location will service their food trucks as well as offer quick dining with a patio for diners.
The restaurant will be located at 4707 Columbia Pike, formerly the home of Bob & Edith’s Diner II and a Roy Rogers. ARLNow notes that workers are busy prepping the location for its opening.
Really interesting to see food trucks, which have been at odds with brick and mortar restaurants since they showed up in the city, turning around and opening their own physical locations.
