If you are at Jasper and 104th Street at lunch time, check out the food truck S’wich. Now in its second year and manned by NAIT culinary arts grad Lex Boldireff, this truck specializes in sandwiches, with all ingredients (seriously, all of them) made by hand.
Chef Boldireff crafts his own bread, including ciabatta and pretzel-style, plus all his own condiments and cured meats. I sampled one of his mortadella sandwich at a recent What the Truck?! event, and could not believe the taste and texture of the mortadella, which was gloriously studded with pistachios. Make sure and indulge in an artisanal ice cream sandwich if you’ve got room for dessert.
If you have the Edmonton Street Food app (free from iTunes), you can check S’wich’s location any day. This week, they have a couple of special events to cater, but are scheduled to be at the southeast corner of Jasper and 104 Street on Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Follow them on Twitter @swichfood, or check their Facebook page.
