Haven’t made it out yet to Jose Garces’ new Guapos Tacos food truck? It’s been making the rounds on evenings on the weekends in Northern Liberties, Fairmount and South Philly — but it has yet to serve lunch on a weekday anywhere near Center City.

Center City worker bees, yearn no longer. Guapos Tacos will be stationed at Love Park this coming Monday and Tuesday, May 2 and 3, starting at 11 a.m. It’ll be dishing up at least five varieties of Chef Garces’ popular tacos along with guacamole, tamales and other Mexican treats. Prices range from $3 to $8.5.

Sample tacos: Adobo Chicken, white onion, radish, cilantro, cotija and lime; Carnitas, smoky black beans, pineapple-habanero salsa; and Duck Barbacoa, radish kimchi, togarashi aioli. Click here for the full menu.

Fun fact: the truck’s quirky design theme includes a colorful mosaic of over 45,000 beer bottle caps, assembled by hand, and collected by the staffs in Garces’ restaurants as well as in bars in Brooklyn near where longtime design collaborator Jun Aizaki resides.

We’re just saying: don’t brown-bag it Monday and Tuesday.
