A new mobile food truck called The Wheelhouse is very close to opening and roaming the streets of 417-land. A description from its Facebook page says, “The Wheelhouse serves delicious dishes of Thai, Mexican and Thai-Mex fusion flavor using high quality ingredients prepared with love for the food and love for the people.” Keep up with updates from The Wheelhouse on Facebook and Twitter.

Join MaMa Jean’s Natural Market in celebrating at the grand opening of its third location in Springfield this Saturday. The new MaMa Jean’s on East Sunshine is having an afternoon packed with games, big sales, prizes and lots of beer, wine and food sampling.

The Grotto: Grill, Salad, Pizza added some tasty sounding fare to its menu. The mahi mahi wrap and the pork pot stickers look delicious.

The folks who own the ice cream shop The Inside Scoop across from Sequiota Park have delicious treats for your four-legged friend. Its Pup Sundaes are topped with homemade dog treats. Now everybody in your family can enjoy a walk to the local ice cream shop.

Springfield Brewing Company has welcomed back the McDaniel Dry Stout to its taps. This smooth Irish stout is calling your name.

Farmers Gastropub is tweaking its always-changing menu this week. Look for lots of fresh summer veggies featured on the new menu.

Here is some very cool news for Amy McGehee of Amycakes in downtown Springfield. The  TV show The CHEW on ABC sponsored a national recipe contest, and McGehee was one of three winners. Her Apricot Goat Cheese Cupcakes won her an all-expenses-paid trip to New York City and a visit to a taping of The CHEW. The episode Amy attended airs today at noon.
